Officers will wear the regular size bright metal grade insignia specified in reference (a)
for use with the khaki shirt. Subdued devices may be worn for operational or field
necessity when the appropriate authority dictates.

Master chief, senior chief, and chief petty officers will wear the subdue 1-1/4 inch
miniature cap device of the size as prescribed in reference (a) for use with the garrison
cap.
c.
First, second, and third class petty officers will wear the subdued petty officer cap device
of the size prescribed in reference (a) for wear with the command ball cap.
d.
Non petty officers will not wear a cap device.
4.
Undershirts (male/female). Undershirts shall be desert brown, cotton, quarter length sleeve,
with an elliptical (crew-neck) collar.
5.
Socks. Socks shall be either olive green or black.

Coat/Shirt. The camouflage utility coat/shirt is to be worn outside the waistband of the utility
trousers. Sleeves may be rolled up at the option of local commanders. When authorized,
utility sleeves will be rolled with the inside out, forming a roll about 3 inches wide, and
terminating at a point about 2 inches above the elbow.

Trousers. The camouflage utility trousers shall be of the same material and camouflage pattern
as the utility coat/shirt. When worn with combat boots, jungle boots or combination
combat/safety boots, the trouser leg will be bloused with garters so that the blouse covers the
top row of hooks or eyelets on the boots.
8.
Belt/Buckle. The 1-1/4 inch black cotton, nylon or elastic woven web belt, with subdued tip,
and subdued open face buckle will be worn with the camouflage utility trousers. Properly
worn with the open face belt buckle, the belt tip will extend 2 to 4 inches from the buckle.
Appropriate authority may authorize the standard Navy brass/nickel buckle which will be
subdued/ blackened.
9.
Footwear. Black combat boots, jungle boots, or combination combat/safety boots may be
worn with the comouflage utility uniform. Footwear will be blackened and buffed.
10. Sweater, Service Olive Green. The U.S. Marine Corps wool sweater "Wooly Pulley" is
authorized for wear with the camouflage
