Safety insignia shall be centered on the left side.
d.
Safety reflective tape will be silver in color, 1 inch wide and 3 inches long. The long
axis of the tape will be centered vertically on the rear of the helmet, extending up from
the brim line.
22. Identification Badges
a.
Command-at-Sea, Command Ashore/Project Manager, Navy, fleet, force, command
master chief, command senior chief, and command chief badges shall be worn per
reference (a); however, male members with a force insignia on their left breast pocket
will wear their badges centered on the right pocket so as not to conceal the force insignia.
b.
Master-at-arms and career counselor badges shall be worn per reference (a), however,
male members with a force insignia on their left breast pocket will wear their badges
centered on the right pocket so as not to conceal the force insignia. Females will center
the badge 1/4 inch above the name tag over the left breast pocket. Appropriate authority
may authorize sewn on cloth badges.
c.
Breast insignia shall be worn per reference (a) for working uniforms.
d.
Command/unit patches or insignia, individual or personal are not authorized.
23. Identification Markings. Identification marking for the camouflage utility uniform consists of
the wearer's surname or the words "U.S. NAVY" stenciled, embroidered or molded in
approximately 3/4 inch black block letters on a 1 inch wide olive green tape which is then
sewn to the uniform. Names exceedingly long can be stenciled, embroidered or molded in 1/2
inch letters. Proper locations of tape are as follows.
a.
Shirt
(1) A tape containing the wearer's surname will be sewn above and flush with the top of
the wearer's right shirt pocket.
(2) A tape containing the words "U.S. NAVY" will be sewn above and flush with the
top of the wearer's left shirt pocket.
(3) An approved force insignia will be stenciled, sewn, embroidered or molded in black,
on the wearer's left breast pocket.
