Flag replica should be approximately two inches by three inches and will be placed
with the star field to face forward as the wearer faces. The appropriate replica for
the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the reverse side flag.
(5) The naval block style (i.e. USMC/USN type) CUU cover will be worn. Currently
issued Army style CUU covers may be worn until replacement naval block covers
can be obtained and issued.
(a) With respect to the cap insignia device for Captains, the head of the eagle will
face to the wearer's right.
(6) The breast/warfare insignia of the specialty in which currently serving will be worn
above the "U.S. COAST GUARD." Only one Warfare Qualification device or
Cutterman's Pin is to be worn, per enclosure (1), and will be embroidered or
stencilled in black.
(7) In para 17.a of enclosure (1), replace Navy working khaki uniform with Coast Guard
working blue uniform.
(8) The senior Coast Guard commander may, if conditions warrant, modify the wearing
of the CUU to conform to the uniform as worn by the DoD or other service with
which the Coast Guard is operating. Such modifications shall be adhered to only for
the period of time dictated by the operation.

Procure CUUs through the federal stock system as organizational clothing per references
(a) and (b) using appropriate unit's AFC-30 funds. To verify availability, current pricing,
or other BDU related information, you may contact the Coast Guard Liaison Officer,
Defense Personnel Center, Philadelphia, PA (215) 737-3021 for assistance. Commandant
(G-ODO) and the Area Commanders also maintain a listing of National Stock Numbers
(NSNs) for CUUs and accessories.
