COMMANDANT INSTRUCTION 1020.10
Subj: STANDARDS FOR WEARING OF CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORMS (CUU) BY
COAST GUARD PERSONNEL
Ref: (a) COMDTINST M1020.6 (series), Uniform Regulations
(b)COMDTINST M4400.19 (series), Supply Policy and Procedure Manual, Encl. (V-6)
1.
Purpose. This instruction promulgates Coast Guard policy on the wear of Camouflage Utility
Uniforms, incorporating OPNAV Instruction 1020.4C with Coast Guard specific
modifications.
2.
Action. Area and district commanders, and commanders of maintenance and logistics
commands shall ensure compliance with the provisions of this instruction.
3.
Discussion. CUUs are the standard filed wear for U.S. military forces, including certain Coast
Guard units. The CUU is considered organizational clothing. Normally, Coast Guard
personnel will only wear CUUs when operating in an OCONUS environment with other
military forces, or when training to operate in an OCONUS environment which would require
the wearing of CUUs. G-ODO is the final arbiter regarding CUU policy.
4.
Changes. Recommended editorial corrections shall be forwarded to Commandant (G-ODO-1)
by rapidraft letter.
5.
Policy.
a.
Except as hereafter provided OPNAVINST 1020.4C will be followed.
b.
Subject to the uniform policies of the local Operational Commander, CUUs are
authorized for wear by USCG personnel
