Subj: SUPPORT OF NAVY-TYPE, NAVY-OWNED (NTNO) ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT
1.
PURPOSE. This Instruction provides guidance for identifying and requesting support for
shipboard Navy-Type Navy-Owned (NTNO) electronic equipment in Coast Guard custody.
2.
ACTION. Area and district commanders, commanders of maintenance and logistics
commands, commanding officers of headquarters units, assistant commandants for
directorates, Chief Counsel, and special staff offices at Headquarters shall ensure that the
provisions of this Instruction are followed.
3.
DIRECTIVES AFFECTED. Support Of Navy-Type, Navy-Owned Electronics Equipment,
COMDTINST 7100.2E is cancelled.
4.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION.
a.
The Coast Guard receives reimbursement from Navy Systems Commands (SYSCOM) to
maintain NTNO electronic equipment in the custody of the Coast Guard. This
reimbursement is provided by the following Navy SYSCOMS:
(1)
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) For Command, Control,
Communications, Computers & Information (C4I) and associated Special Purpose
Electronic Test Equipment (SPETE).
(2)
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) - For Air Search Radar (ASR)
equipment and Electronic Surveillance Measures (ESM) equipment and associated
SPETE.
