rent subsidies, operation and maintenance cost subsidies, the exercise of receivership or
conservatorship authority, and assistance in purchasing structures).
25. Actions, including alteration and additions of existing structures, specifically required to
conform to new or existing applicable environmental legislation or environmental
regulations (e.g., hush houses for aircraft engines or scrubbers for air emissions,
improvements to storm water and sanitary and industrial waste water collection and
treatment systems, and installation of fire fighting equipment).
26. The modification of existing systems or equipment when the coastal effects will remain
substantially the same and the use is consistent with applicable enforceable policies and
regulations.
