logistically, but it has prohibited participation in fund raising activities. In the past, this
policy has been interpreted to restrict attendance at USO fund raising events in an official
capacity.
4.
PROCEDURE. Effective immediately, Coast Guard officials are authorized to endorse the
USO publicly and factually for the beneficial work it does in supporting the military
community, and to attend USO fund raising events in an official capacity.
5.
ACTION. Area and district commanders, commanders of maintenance and logistics
commands, unit commanding officers and Commander, CG Activities Europe shall comply
with this Instruction.
