ACTION.
a.
Area and district commanders, unit commanding officers, and the Commander, CG
Activities Europe shall forward requests, through the chain of command to Commandant
(G-NSR-3), when identifying a requirement for better coverage from an existing product
or development of a new product. The use of charts, drawings, or chart catalogs when
presenting a request is encouraged. Statistics, including the number of transits made
through the particular area, mileage saved, or comments received from other mariners will
also be helpful. This action does not supersede the Crisis Support Requirements described
in reference (a).
b.
Commandant (G-NSR-3) will review the request with the appropriate Headquarters
program managers and forward recommendations to the proper charting agency. While
both NOS and DMAHTC strive to meet the users needs, not all requests can be fulfilled.
