B. Production.
Producing 1. In the production phase, logistics support produces the right
capabilities (people, infrastructure and information) that were
right
selected in the planning phase. Production includes acquiring new
capabilities
infrastructure, maintaining existing infrastructure, introducing new
for
skills into the workplace by training existing employees or hiring
right place
new employees, and taking care of the Coast Guard workforce
at
(e.g., pay and benefits, health care, worklife). Information is
right time
continually improved and updated to keep pace with changes in

infrastructure and workforce. The circle in Figure 6 represents the

production phase boundaries and indicates that the production
phase is performed almost entirely by logistics support elements.
