PURPOSE. The purpose of this instruction is to announce revisions of the following forms:
General Index or Abstract of Title, CG-1332; and General Index or Abstract of Title
Continuation Sheet, CG-1332A, and is for use by Vessel Documentation Officers.

ACTION. Area and district commanders, and vessel documentation officers shall insure
widest dissemination and compliance with the provisions of this instruction. Until further
notice, the block labeled "Date Terminated" shall be modified to show the date and time of
instrument recording when entering bill of sale and encumbrance information.
3.
DISCUSSION. The revised documentation forms were devised in accordance with
references (a) and (b) in order to simplify the vessel documentation process.
4.
APPLICABILITY. Forms CG-1332 and 1332A are used by documentation personnel to
record information concerning the facts of vessel build, ownership transfer, lien and
encumbrance information, and court orders affecting the vessel's title. Copies of forms CG-
1332 and 1332A showing information about vessels must be provided to any person upon
request and payment of the appropriate fee.
